in National Security / Kyrgyzstan - by

The State Committee for National Security (GKNB) has terminated the criminal prosecution of Russian entrepreneur Pavel Te, the owner of Capital Group. Previously, security services suspected him of financing the criminal activities of the notorious thief-in-law Kamchi Kolbayev.

On March 12, the GKNB declared Pavel Te wanted, stating that he had provided financial assistance to Kolbayev in the construction of real estate in the Kyrgyz Republic, despite being aware of his criminal status. Pavel Te arrived in Bishkek on March 19 to participate in investigative activities.

Following the investigations, the charges against him were dropped due to lack of involvement in criminal activities. Kolbayev was killed on October 4, 2023, during a special operation by the GKNB. According to the US Department of the Treasury, he was part of the international criminal group "Brotherly Circle," involved in bribery, human trafficking, and other illegal activities.
