Turkmen archaeologists have received an invitation from their colleagues at the Russian Geographical Society to take part in a joint expedition near the village of Meana in the foothills of Kopetdag to study the remains of the ancient farmers' life and lifestyle. This information was reported by the online publication "SNG.today".
The village of Meana is located in the Ahal province near the Turkmen-Iranian border. The village is known for the mausoleum of the medieval philosopher-mystic Abu Sayyid Abu al-Khair, known in Turkmenistan as Myane-baba.
The expedition will take place from September 1 to September 30, 2024. During the excavations, the remnants of the culture and lifestyle of the people who lived in the Kopetdag oasis will be studied. To participate in the archaeological expedition, it is necessary to submit an application on the Russian Geographical Society website by May 1, 2024.
