The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has updated the ranking of the world's top chess players, highlighting achievements from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov, aged 19, has surged seven positions to claim the fourth spot in the rankings.

As of April 2024, Abdusattorov boasts 2765 rating points, propelling him from 11th to fourth place. Currently, he trails behind Norway's Magnus Carlsen, and Americans Fabiano Caruana and Hikaru Nakamura in the FIDE rankings. Abdusattorov leads the global ranking of young chess players.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Kazakhstani player Bibisara Assaubayeva tops the world ranking among girls. She is a two-time world blitz champion and made history in 2021 as the youngest female chess champion in this category.

The USA leads the FIDE country rankings, followed by India, China, Russia, and Azerbaijan. Among Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan ranks 17th, Kazakhstan 43rd, Turkmenistan 68th, and Kyrgyzstan 70th. Tajikistan's team is placed 93rd.

Following Farrukh Amonatov's retirement, Tajikistan's chess team lacks a single grandmaster, leading to a decline in the overall performance of Tajik players. The limited participation of athletes in international tournaments also contributes to this low ranking.
