XIV Dushanbe International Half Marathon to Close City Roads on April 20

In anticipation of the upcoming XIV Dushanbe International Half Marathon, road closures are scheduled in the capital on Saturday, April 20. The marathon is dedicated to the City Day, celebrated every third Saturday of April. According to the city administration, traffic will be restricted from 08:00 to 11:00 for the comfort and safety of participants and spectators during the event.

Athletes from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, and professional athletes from Tajikistan are expected to participate in this year's half marathon, which is part of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) calendar. The first Dushanbe half marathon, covering a distance of 21.975 km, was held in 2010.

In the previous XIII International Half Marathon on April 15, 2023, athletes from sister cities and cities with trade and economic cooperation with Dushanbe participated, representing Europe, America, Africa, and Asia. The winners were awarded different cash prizes. The prize fund for this year's marathon has not been disclosed.
