During the spring meetings in Washington, a presentation of the new state program for transforming school education "Altyn Qazyk" ("Polar Star") took place. The government's press service reported that the Kyrgyz Prime Minister highlighted the ambitious goals of the program, aiming to invest in human capital over the next decade.
The event, held at Google's global corporation office in Washington, was attended by representatives from the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Union, UNICEF, Global Partnership for Education, and other international partners. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of providing Kyrgyz children with opportunities to acquire world-class knowledge and skills to unleash their full potential and be competitive in the global market.
The program, named "Polar Star," symbolizes investments in human capital as the guiding principle for all state initiatives aimed at advancing human development. The Prime Minister also mentioned the government's interest in collaborating with Google in the field of information technology and announced the upcoming launch of a pilot project, "Google Schools," fully integrating Google tools into education at a school in Bishkek.
Google's Vice President for Government Relations and Public Policy, Mark Isakovich, expressed readiness for further mutually beneficial cooperation and interaction. He praised the Kyrgyz government's vision for the "Polar Star" program, highlighting the role of technology in shaping the future of Kyrgyzstan's education system. Isakovich commended the government's commitment to leveraging digital technologies for the benefit of its people and expressed Google's readiness to support this endeavor through collaboration.
