President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a foundry and mechanical plant in Tashkent, revealing its transformation into a profitable venture. The plant, covering over 40 hectares, previously underperformed until it was handed over to the joint-stock company "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" and modernized in 2013.

Today, the plant can produce 1200 and repair 1500 freight wagons annually, manufacturing six types of wagons for various purposes. The foundry section, worth $120 million, can yield 26,000 tons of products yearly, including spare parts for railways and rolling stock maintenance.

During the visit, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the creation of more job opportunities, highlighting plans to build 100,000 houses in the country to provide employment. The plant plays a crucial role in this strategy by boosting production for construction and communal sectors, engaging entrepreneurs, and increasing orders to stimulate job growth in related industries.

The plant operates 26 workshops, including wagon construction, assembly, wheel, foundry, repair, pressing, blanking, and packaging. The President inspected the production process in these workshops, showcasing the successful implementation of a localization program for around 100 products from 2018 to 2023.

Furthermore, the plant adheres to international quality management standards ISO 9001 and energy management system ISO 50001, ensuring high-quality production and sustainable practices. In 2023, the plant achieved a production value of 267 billion UZS, with exports reaching 170 wagons and spare parts worth $10 million. Plans are underway to increase exports to $15 million this year, marking a significant milestone for Uzbekistan's industrial sector.
