Energy Investment Forum in Vienna: Coordination Committee Established for Kambaratinskaya HPP-1

International Investment Energy Forum, which started on June 10 in Vienna, Austria, concluded with the establishment of the Coordination Donor Committee for the construction of Kambaratinskaya HPP-1. The government's press service reported this.

The first members of the Coordination Donor Committee included the World Bank, OPEC Fund, Asian Development Bank, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Islamic Development Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and others.

It is noted that the first session of the committee is scheduled to take place in the autumn of 2024.

Additionally, a number of documents were signed at the forum:

- Interdepartmental agreement on cooperation for the "Kambaratinskaya HPP-1" project between the energy ministries of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan;

- Memorandum of Understanding on the "Support for strengthening the power grid of the Kyrgyz Republic" for the financing of the "500-kilowatt power transmission line from Kemin to Balykchy" project;

- Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the International Finance Corporation on the second phase of the solar energy development project;

- Agreement on the financing of the "Modernization of the Dolinka substation" and "Reconstruction of the Rechnaya substation" projects;

- Memorandum of Cooperation in implementing energy investment projects between the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Chinese International Engineering Company, an energy consulting group.

"In summarizing the forum, I can confidently say that we have made significant progress in establishing contacts and a common understanding of further actions. I am confident that the Coordination Donor Committee will continue the actions and be a 'countdown' to the implementation of the national project - the construction of Kambaratinskaya HPP-1," said Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov.
