Uzbekistan is set to participate in the World Expo Osaka 2025 in Japan next year. The event will highlight technological, scientific, economic, and cultural achievements of over 170 countries. The theme of the exhibition, "Designing future society for our lives," focuses on using high technologies to address social issues such as low living standards and inequality in healthcare and education.
The Uzbekistan Culture and Arts Development Fund, representing the country at the expo, has announced the commencement of the construction of the National Pavilion. The pavilion, a three-story structure with a total area of 800 sq. m, will be located in the western part of Expo Osaka 2025. It will feature an exhibition project called "Garden of Knowledge," showcasing Uzbekistan's transformation in line with sustainable development goals.
In addition to the exhibition project, cultural events are planned, including Uzbekistan National Day and panel discussions in the women's pavilion. The participation in Expo Osaka 2025 is expected to open up various opportunities for Uzbekistan, including showcasing innovations, boosting tourism, fostering international cooperation, and cultural exchange.
During the visit to Japan, the head of the fund, Gayane Umerova, met with Japanese cultural agency officials to discuss future cultural events, including exhibitions and ballet performances. The fund also announced the commencement of the construction of the State Museum of Arts in Uzbekistan, designed by the renowned Japanese architect Tadao Ando.
The architectural project for the museum has been finalized, with Tadao Ando overseeing its execution. The museum will be located in the vicinity of the Uzbekistan National Park in Tashkent. The completion of the museum is expected to further enhance Uzbekistan's cultural landscape and strengthen ties with Japan in the field of arts and heritage preservation.
