in Economy / Uzbekistan - by

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan commented on the sale of gas at some methane filling stations above the set limit of 3350 sum. Reports spread on April 1 that some stations were selling gas for 3800 sum.

The Uzbekenergo Inspection found price hikes at a station in Fergana, where they conducted explanatory work and ensured gas sales at 3350 sum. Similar cases occurred at two stations in Surkhandarya and Andijan.

On March 30, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan extended the validity period of the maximum retail price of methane for cars by two months. The maximum price was raised from 3250 to 3350 sum per cubic meter.

Officials urge gas station personnel to strictly adhere to the decision's requirements, warning of measures against illegal activities in cooperation with official organizations.

Citizens facing unjustified price increases are encouraged to contact various channels for assistance, including the General Prosecutor's hotline and the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection.
