President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Gulbozor neighborhood in the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent on Wednesday, where a tourist street was opened. The neighborhood is located near the historic Chorsu market, specializing in tourist services. With a population of 2670, the neighborhood has been equipped with additional amenities while preserving its historical charm, including underground utility lines and a "Safe Neighborhood" system.

Historical gates at the entrance have been restored, along with a large ivan with carved columns and a nearby water feature. Embroidery and craft workshops, a bakery, restaurants serving national cuisine, and jewelry stores have been established. Exhibitions such as "History of Bread" and "Journey to Ancient Tashkent" are on display, alongside the construction of a three-star hotel.

The street is part of the developing "tourist ring" in the Shaykhantakhur district, aiming to increase income opportunities for residents engaged in trade, crafts, and services. President Mirziyoyev participated in preparing sumalak and congratulated residents on the month of Ramadan, instructing officials to continue developing the tourist ring and boosting tourism sector employment.

Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of showcasing the country's rich history to attract foreign tourists, advocating for the transformation of the area into a 24/7 tourist hub, expanding ethnographic sites, promoting national values, and hosting various festivals. The creation of the 20.7 km "tourist ring" was planned by a presidential decree from June last year.
