President Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the launch of new industrial and energy projects during his trip to the Djizak region on April 8th. The country has seen a significant increase in industrial output, with 4600 new industrial enterprises launched in 2023 alone, resulting in a 6% growth in the industry and production worth 656 trillion Uzbek soums.

Additionally, 7 major thermal, solar, and wind power plants with a total capacity of 2.4 GW have been connected to the grid. Foreign investments totaling $14 billion are funding the construction of 31 power plants with a combined capacity of 12 GW. This year, an additional 2.6 GW of power is expected to be connected in Navoi, Bukhara, Namangan, Tashkent, and Kashkadarya, with the aim of reaching a 30% share of "green" energy in the generation mix.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized that these efforts aim to improve living conditions for the people and ensure uninterrupted energy supply for industrial development. This initiative has become a positive tradition across all regions of Uzbekistan.

During the event, President Mirziyoyev initiated the construction of two complexes. The first project involves the construction of an industrial zone specializing in metallurgy in the Gallaral district, with plans for 7 projects totaling $500 million. This includes the production of reinforcement, steel balls, pipes, automobile bodies, and special equipment, with the creation of 5000 jobs.

The second project entails the construction of a 500 MW solar power plant in the Farish district in collaboration with Chinese companies China Poly Group and China Electric. With a cost of $350 million, the plant is expected to produce 1.1 billion kWh of "green" energy annually, improving energy supply for 450,000 households. The first 200 MW is set to be connected to the grid by the end of this year.

In the coming years, additional thermal, wind, and solar power plants with a total capacity of 1.66 GW will be built in the Sharaf-Rashidov, Farish, and Gallaral districts, aiming to enhance living standards and boost economic development in the region.
