Gas Stations in Uzbekistan Resume Operations After Gas Pressure Returns to Normal

in Economy / Uzbekistan - by

Following the restoration of natural gas pressure in pipelines, all gas filling stations in Uzbekistan will resume operations starting from March 7th. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Energy's press service.

The methane filling stations were closed after emergency shutdowns on the 110 kV high-voltage power lines "L-Gazli-1" and "L-Gazli-2" in the Bukhara region on February 17th, caused by strong winds and snowfall. This led to the shutdown of 8 gas compressor units at the Gazli compressor station and 2 units at the Uchkir station of the Gazli gas processing plant.

Due to the accident, temporary restrictions were imposed on the operation of gas filling stations. Plans were also announced to increase gasoline supplies to gas stations.

Starting from February 22nd, restrictions on the operation of gas stations began to be gradually lifted, but they were still in place until the last day. In total, there are 1517 gas filling stations in the country. On Sunday, 280 of them were operational, while this number increased to 550 by Thursday.
