In the first quarter of 2024, Uzbekistan produced over 91,000 passenger cars (including specialized vehicles), as reported by the Statistics Agency. This marks a 50.7% increase compared to January-March 2023. A significant portion of the production was attributed to the Chevrolet Cobalt, with over 28.3 thousand units (+59.5%).
The production of Lacetti/Gentra decreased by 20.9%, and the manufacturing of this model was planned to cease from April of this year. Onix, which began serial production in February 2023, saw an increase from 559 to 8,338 units, while Tracker production rose from 1,660 to 12,205 units.
At the ADM Jizzakh plant, KIA production reached 4,980 units (a 1.5-fold increase), and Chery production amounted to 2,990 units (a 3.5-fold increase). Haval's production reached 205 units, and Exeed produced 38 units. The production volume of specialized passenger vehicles increased from 6,209 to 6,317 units.
In 2023, UzAuto Motors held an 81% market share in Uzbekistan's automotive market, producing 369.99 thousand vehicles worth $4.85 billion. ADM Jizzakh secured a 5.5% share, with the remaining portion attributed to imports, including the import of 8,948 BYD vehicles worth $291 million.
