LOT Polish Airlines inaugurated its first regular flight to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, departing from Warsaw Airport on March 13 at 22:55. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft landed in the Uzbek capital at 9:00 local time after a 6-hour flight, as reported by Uzbekistan Airports.

The opening ceremony at Tashkent International Airport was attended by airport director Jasur Pulatov, LOT Polish Airlines CEO Michal Fijol, Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Poland Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev, Poland's Ambassador to Uzbekistan Radoslaw Gruc, representatives from Uzbekistan's Ministries of Transport and Culture, Tourism Committee, as well as journalists and bloggers from both countries.

"This new route between Warsaw and Tashkent is a significant step in enhancing air connectivity with Europe. After the pandemic, LOT Polish Airlines became the first European carrier to offer flights for Uzbekistan residents to European cities and vice versa. This marks a new chapter in tourism development for both sides," stated Uzbekistan Airports CEO Javlonbek Umarhodjaev.

"Uzbekistan is one of the most intriguing countries globally, offering much to passengers from Poland and Europe. I am confident that the opportunity to travel comfortably to the heart of Central Asia aboard our aircraft will foster further tourism and economic cooperation between Poland and Uzbekistan. We have opened this route considering the interests of Uzbek citizens. From Warsaw Chopin Airport, a convenient transit point, passengers from Tashkent can reach nearly 80 cities in Europe or North America within our route network," noted LOT Polish Airlines CEO Michal Fijol.

The Tashkent-Warsaw-Tashkent flights are scheduled three times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. In April and May, the Polish carrier plans an additional flight on Tuesdays with a return to Warsaw on Wednesdays. Tickets are available on the airline's official website lot.com, as well as at ticket offices and travel agencies.

LOT Polish Airlines, founded in 1929 and headquartered in Warsaw, is a member of Star Alliance, the world's oldest, largest, and most prestigious aviation alliance. With around 80 aircraft in its fleet, the airline operates over 100 different routes.
