President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Saykhunabad district of the Syrdarya region on March 14 to discuss increasing household incomes through utilizing backyard farming. The district is considered exemplary in this regard, with plans to replicate its success nationwide.

Mirziyoyev emphasized the need to support people striving for a better life and allocated significant funds for entrepreneurship, employment, and poverty alleviation in Saykhunabad. He acknowledged that resources do not reach all residents and instructed officials to develop project proposals for each neighborhood.

The President urged local leaders to learn from the discipline and hard work of other nations, such as China, and emphasized the importance of dedication and early mornings for success. He called on officials across all regions to analyze their areas and personally ensure effective governance.

Mirziyoyev revealed that 138 employees work in the economic departments of Saykhunabad district. He criticized past leadership for neglecting proper training and guidance, resulting in inefficiencies.

The region currently faces challenges, including a significant number of families receiving aid, high unemployment rates, and a poverty level of 14%. Efforts are being made to boost local budget revenues and reduce expenditures.

Due to a lack of entrepreneurial growth and progress in Saykhunabad, several officials have been relieved of their duties, including the deputy governor of Syrdarya region, the district governor and his deputy, and managers of local bank branches.

President Mirziyoyev's visit highlights the government's commitment to improving living standards and economic opportunities for citizens across Uzbekistan.
