in Education / Kazakhstan - by

On April 23, 2024, the head of state signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Ratification of the Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Documents on Academic Degrees in the Member States of the Eurasian Economic Union." The agreement, signed by the governments of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia on June 8, 2023, in Sochi, ensures that documents on academic degrees such as PhDs, profile doctors, candidates of sciences, and doctors of sciences will be recognized without the need for national recognition procedures.

This recognition is excepted when the holders of such documents seek established employment benefits for academic degrees in the country. This move aims to streamline the recognition process for academic qualifications among the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. Additionally, earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on Cooperation in the Field of Aviation Search and Rescue."
