in Economy / Kyrgyzstan - by

Starting from April 1, 2024, the duty-free import thresholds for personal goods within the Eurasian Economic Union will be modified, as announced by the State Customs Service. According to the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council from December 20, 2017, No. 107, the duty-free import norms for personal goods, imported in accompanied and/or unaccompanied baggage by means of transport other than air, or on foot, are set at a value not exceeding the equivalent of 500 euros or a weight not exceeding 25 kilograms from April 1, 2024.

The duty-free import norms for personal goods imported in international postal shipments and delivered by a carrier (express cargoes) are set at a value not exceeding the equivalent of 200 euros or a weight not exceeding 31 kilograms from April 1, 2024. It is worth noting that the threshold was temporarily raised from 2022 to support citizens ordering personal goods from foreign online stores.

Until April 1, 2024, the threshold remains at 1,000 euros for goods transported by a carrier or in postal shipments, and the same amount for goods imported by baggage using all types of transport except air or on foot. These changes aim to streamline import regulations and facilitate personal shopping experiences for citizens within the Eurasian Economic Union.
