Electricity Tariffs to Increase by 10.8% Starting May 1st

The Ministry of Energy has announced that starting from May 1st, electricity tariffs for all end consumers will be adjusted to the actual inflation rate of the previous year, with an expected increase of 10.8%. As a result, the tariff for household electricity consumption up to 700 kilowatt-hours will be 110.8 tenge, while consumption exceeding 700 kilowatt-hours will be charged at 239.3 tenge.

The 10.8% increase will also apply to other consumer categories, including:

- Low-income families receiving monthly allowances

- Electric transport stations

- Religious organizations

- Budget consumers

- Agricultural sector

- Industrial sector

- Mining (cryptocurrency)

- Gold mining industry

- Foundry production

- Alcohol industry

- Cement production

These adjustments aim to reflect the actual cost of electricity and ensure fair pricing across different consumer groups. The new tariffs will come into effect on May 1st, 2024, and will help maintain the sustainability of the energy sector while supporting various consumer needs and industries.
