The member states of the Eurasian Economic Union have decided to continue working on amending the EAEU law to introduce a ban on GMO (genetically modified organism) seeds. The Ministry of Agriculture reports this decision.
According to the ministry, it is proposed to ban the import of the most common GMO seeds of corn, sugar beets, rapeseed, soybeans, and tomatoes. Seed producers and importers are requested to comply with the laws prohibiting the circulation of GMO seeds in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
