The World Bank is ready to allocate $500 million for the construction of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1. This was announced today on "Birinchi Radio" by the Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Taalaibek Ibraev.

According to him, the World Bank has already allocated funds to update the feasibility study for the project, which was originally done in 2014 and now needs to be refreshed.

"We held a competition, with 14 companies participating, and selected three. On March 11, 2024, we will open the financial proposals, and it will be clear who will update the feasibility study. After that, the project cost of constructing Kambar-Aty-1 will be known. In 2014, it was $2.9 billion. Ten years have passed, and everything has become more expensive. We made approximate calculations. The project cost will be $4-4.5 billion," said Taalaibek Ibraev.
