Veon Group Sells Stake in Beeline Kyrgyzstan to Chaudhary Group

in Economy / Kyrgyzstan - by

Yesterday evening, the Veon group signed an agreement to sell its 50.1 percent stake in the company "Sky Mobile" (trading under the brand Beeline Kyrgyzstan) to Chaudhary Group, as reported by Russian media.

The company explained that the deal is part of Veon's strategy to simplify the group's structure and focus on larger markets where the firm can develop as a provider of digital services in finance, entertainment, healthcare, and education. The main reason for the sale is Veon's desire to focus on major markets such as Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Bangladesh.

Beeline Kyrgyzstan informed that it is too early to talk about the actual sale. This process may take several months.

Regarding the changes related to this deal, it is expected that there will be some adjustments. The Chaudhary Group (CG) operates worldwide in various industries, possesses significant financial potential, and is ready to invest in the company, which in turn will have a positive impact on the telecommunications market in Kyrgyzstan, as commented by the company.

It is also noted that the management of Beeline Kyrgyzstan will remain the same, and the team will continue to carry out its tasks. No significant structural changes are expected in the near future. The second shareholder, holding a 49.9 percent stake, will continue to be the group of companies "Verny Capital."
