High-Level Meeting Between Kyrgyz Prime Minister and World Bank Delegation

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Zaparov, recently held a meeting with a delegation from the World Bank led by the Regional Director for Central Asia, Tatiana Proskuryakova. The meeting, as per the cabinet's press service, primarily focused on the progress of previously agreed upon initiatives and prospective bilateral projects.

During the meeting, Zaparov highlighted the importance of effectively implementing the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1 construction project, emphasizing its wide-ranging economic, environmental, and social benefits for both the country and the Central Asian region. Discussions also included the upcoming "spring meetings" of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in April 2024, as well as an energy forum scheduled to take place in Austria in June.

To conclude the meeting, Zaparov awarded Navid Hassan Naqvi, the head of the World Bank's representation in Kyrgyzstan, with an honorary certificate from the cabinet of ministers for his significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the republic.
