Improving Energy Infrastructure and Coal Production in Naryn Region

During a recent working trip to the Naryn region, Prime Minister Akylbek Zaparov visited several fuel and energy facilities. The Cabinet's press service reported that the Prime Minister inspected the construction progress of the "Kulanak" hydropower plant in the Naryn district.

At the site, dredging of the reservoir bed covering 356 hectares has been completed, along with over half of the land works on all hydro facilities sections. Contracts for the supply of hydroelectric and hydromechanical equipment have been signed with companies from Austria and Turkey. The "Kulanak" hydropower plant is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2026.

Moving on, Zaparov visited the "Ak-Ulak" coal site at the Min-Kush deposit in the Jumgal district, as well as the "Central" section of the Kara-Keche coal deposit. He inspected the conditions of the sites, production processes, mining preparations, and this year's work plan. At the "Central" site, the Prime Minister was shown an electronic queue system and a barrier.

Additionally, Zaparov handed over special equipment to the state enterprise "Kyrgyzkomur," including 20 HOWO trucks, 2 excavators, and 1 bulldozer. A total of 211 million 125 thousand soms worth of special machinery has been procured since last autumn.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the coal mining operations have been streamlined, with coal extraction proceeding according to schedule. Following the working trip, specific directives have been issued to relevant state and local authorities.
