Teachers and STEM Instructors Receive Significant Salary Increases in 2022

In 2022, teachers saw an 80% increase in their salaries, while STEM instructors experienced a 100% raise. This announcement was made by the Minister of Education and Science, Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, during a parliamentary committee on social policy.

According to Kendirbaeva, in 2018, teachers' salaries were at 11,000 soms, and by 2024, they will reach 24,400 soms. Overall, salaries have risen from 10,000 to 26,000 soms during this period.

"University professors' salaries have increased from 16,600 to 32,000 soms. Additionally, starting from September 2023, over 2,000 school principals and deputy principals in charge of educational activities have seen a 50% increase in their salaries," stated the Minister of Education.

She also mentioned that last year, 186 million soms were allocated from the republican budget, while in 2024, this amount will increase to 558 million soms. These salary raises demonstrate the government's commitment to investing in the education sector and valuing the important work of educators in the country.
