Investors from Jordan Reclaim Ownership of Building in Bishkek

in Economy / Kyrgyzstan - by

Investor Haider Tamimi, along with three other founders from Jordan, made a significant announcement regarding their investments in Kyrgyzstan. Over the past nine years, they have developed various properties in the Issyk-Kul region and Bishkek. One of their recent projects, a nine-story shopping center located near the Orto-Sai market, faced illegal occupation two years ago. Seeking assistance, they approached President Sadyr Japarov to regain control of the building and safeguard the rights of investors. Tamimi expressed appreciation towards President Japarov, GKNB Chief Kamchybek Tashiev, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev, and other state authorities for their support. They intend to further promote investments from Jordan and other Arab countries in Kyrgyzstan.

In late November, it came to light that individuals were residing in a high-rise building near the Orto-Sai market that had not been officially opened. The municipality confirmed that the occupation was unauthorized and initiated legal actions against the occupants. By early February, the City Administration for Architectural and Construction Control in Bishkek issued notices to the residents instructing them to vacate the premises by March 1. Additionally, utility services like electricity and water supply were disconnected, while alternative accommodation options were provided to individual tenants.
