Kyrgyzstan's parliament member Balbak Tulobaev has proposed the registration of right-hand drive cars from Armenia. In a social media post directed towards President Sadyr Japarov and Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov, Tulobaev emphasized the need for Kyrgyz license plates for these vehicles, stating that citizens are willing to pay $500-600 per registration. He believes that this initiative could potentially boost revenue for the state budget.

In 2023, Kyrgyzstan imported 184,789 cars from various countries such as China, South Korea, Russia, the USA, Japan, and Germany, with 8,773 being passenger cars. The country currently has a total of over 1.2 million cars, including around 200,000 right-hand drive vehicles.
