Eurasian Economic Union Advances Energy Security and Market Integration

The Council of Heads of Authorized Bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the field of energy, chaired by the Minister for Energy and Infrastructure of the EAEU, Arzybek Kozhoshev, discussed the creation of common energy markets and the principles of ensuring energy security within the EAEU. The Eurasian Economic Commission press service reported on the meeting.

According to the press release, the parties discussed the preparation of international agreements on the formation of common gas, oil, and oil product markets within the union.

"We intend to continue substantive discussions on unresolved issues at the EAEU level in the near future," the EAEU Minister said.

Energy ministers reaffirmed their commitment to reaching mutually acceptable solutions on sensitive issues related to the operation of common energy markets. During the meeting, the parties recognized the sufficiency of the measures taken to ensure the energy security of the EAEU member states and expressed their intention to further enhance cooperation in this area.

"The EAEU countries demonstrate unity on several positions. The creation of common energy resource markets and ensuring energy security is a common and important task for the union states," stated Arzybek Kozhoshev.
