According to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, the country's gross international reserves reached $3.491 billion in March, marking the highest level in the nation's history. This surpasses the previous record set in February 2024, September 2021, and December 2023.

In March alone, the reserves increased by $167.34 million compared to February, and by $254.68 million since the beginning of the year. This represents a significant growth of $1.146 billion, or 40.2%, compared to March last year.

These reserves are used by the National Bank to stabilize sudden fluctuations in the currency market. In 2023, the bank conducted 14 interventions, selling $655.72 million. However, in 2024, only three interventions were carried out, two selling dollars totaling $31.85 million and one purchasing $9 million.
