Asian Development Bank Raises Kyrgyzstan's Economic Growth Forecast to 5% in 2024

The Asian Development Bank has revised Kyrgyzstan's economic growth forecast for 2024 to 5%, up from the previous estimate of 4%, as stated in the Asian Development Outlook 2024 report.

For 2025, the country's GDP growth is projected to reach 4.5%, driven by investments and private consumption. This growth is expected to be supported by higher population incomes resulting from a predicted slowdown in inflation and increased money transfers.

The ADB foresees a slowdown in GDP growth rates due to reduced growth in the construction and service sectors. The current account deficit is also expected to decrease in 2024-2025, attributed to higher gold exports and decreased imports (including re-exports).

Inflation is anticipated to decrease to 7% this year and 6.5% next year. These forecasts paint a positive picture for Kyrgyzstan's economic outlook in the upcoming years.
