The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Zaparov, recently conducted an inspection of the commencement of the reconstruction of the Korumdu-Balbay Baatyr section of the Issyk-Kul ring road. This significant project encompasses the development of a four-lane road, sidewalks, a cycling path, bus stops, as well as the building and upgrading of 14 bridges and 877 water culverts. Furthermore, the plan includes the construction of three pedestrian bridges and two underground pedestrian crossings.

To minimize carbon dioxide emissions, the construction will utilize electric dump trucks as part of a trial initiative. The total estimated cost of this project is $111.07 million, with financial contributions from partners such as the Islamic Development Bank, the Kuwaiti Arab Economic Fund, the Saudi Development Fund, and international development funds including OPEC. The state budget has also allocated $12.8 million towards this endeavor, for which the Prime Minister expressed appreciation.

Zaparov stressed the strategic significance of the road construction project and directed authorities to ensure the timely and top-notch completion of the construction activities. He also assessed the progress of construction on the Balykchy-Barskoon-Karakol road segment, which is on track for completion by 2025. The government is dedicated to enhancing the nation's infrastructure with the backing of international collaborators.
