The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Akylbek Zaparov, recently laid the foundation for a 400-megawatt solar power station in the Kara-Talaa area of the city of Balykchy in the Issyk-Kul region. This significant initiative was announced by the government's press service.

Zaparov emphasized the importance of energy projects in Kyrgyzstan, citing the construction of various hydropower plants including Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, Kulana HPP, HPP "Bala-Saruu," and numerous small hydropower plants. The government's goal is to achieve energy independence through these projects.

"We have completed the first stage of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, and today the update of the feasibility study has begun. Kyrgyzstan aims to build the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1 and become the largest hydroelectric power state in the region. The utilization of solar, wind, and biogas technologies is a key priority for the cabinet of ministers," stated the head of the government.

"We hope that in a year and a half, the solar station will start operating successfully," added Akylbek Zaparov.
