China and Kyrgyzstan are planning to jointly construct a railway port, as announced by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A delegation led by the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Temir Sariyev, visited Xi'an in China to discuss with partners the construction of a large railway port in the republic. Negotiations were held with the management of the Xi'an Inland Port, which coordinates freight transport flows between China, Central Asian countries, Russia, and European states.
The agenda included the possible construction of a similar inland port in Kyrgyzstan. Previously, the initiative to build the port was discussed by President Sadyr Japarov and Chinese President Xi Jinping. They believe that such a port could become a key point in establishing connections between China, Central Asia, and Europe.
