Foreign Companies Pay 188.9 Million Som in VAT for Electronic Services in Kyrgyzstan

In the first quarter of 2024, foreign companies paid a total of 188.9 million som in value-added tax for electronic services provided in Kyrgyzstan, according to the State Tax Service. Some notable contributions include Meta with 69.1 million som, iHerb with 46.7 million som, Google with 32.2 million som, Apple with 19.1 million som, and Amazon with 12.6 million som.

The total tax revenue from this source in 2023 was 438.1 million som, with 57 foreign companies currently registered on the Tax Service's platform vat.salyk.kg.

In 2022, a "Google tax" was implemented for foreign organizations offering electronic services to users in Kyrgyzstan from overseas. This tax imposes a 12 percent VAT rate on the total value of services provided.
