Automated System Issues Over 41 Million Product Marking Codes in 3 Months

The Russian Tax Service reports that in the first three months of 2024, the automated information system "Goods Marking" has generated 41.09 million product marking codes using digital identification tools. Specifically, 32.3 million codes were issued for tobacco products, 8.2 million for alcohol, 404.6 thousand for textiles, 27.7 thousand for footwear, and 1.8 thousand for perfumes.

Since its implementation, the system has issued a total of 780.9 million product marking codes. This includes 660.3 million codes for tobacco products, 119.2 million for alcohol, 1.1 million for textiles, 80.2 thousand for footwear, and 1.8 thousand for perfumes.

More than 2,000 manufacturers and importers are registered in the "Goods Marking" system to receive marking codes. Mandatory product marking for alcohol and tobacco products has been in place in Kyrgyzstan since July 1, 2021. Additionally, a pilot project for marking beer products has been ongoing since January 1, 2023. Starting from April 1, 2024, exporters and manufacturers are required to mark light industry goods with identification tools for mandatory marking in Russia.
