Today, on April 24th, in Baku, the Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan, Daniyar Amangel'diyev, along with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Mikail Jabbarov, signed an agreement to prevent double taxation regarding income taxes and to prevent tax evasion and avoidance. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.

Including Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan has now signed agreements to prevent double taxation with 37 countries worldwide.

These agreements are seen as a means to attract foreign direct investments into the country's economy. They aim to protect residents of one state from discriminatory taxation in another contracting state, prevent tax evasion or abuse of agreement provisions, and facilitate mutual exchange of information between the competent authorities of the contracting states.
