British Ambassador Announces $19.5 Million Investment Fund for Kyrgyzstan

Great Britain to open an investment fund in Kyrgyzstan with a capital of $19.5 million. This was announced by the Ambassador of Great Britain to the Kyrgyz Republic, Nicholas Bowler, during a meeting with journalists.

The Ambassador invited journalists to discuss the recent visit of the British Foreign Minister David Cameron to the republic. During the visit, David Cameron pledged to increase funding for education, support for businesses, and investments.

Ambassador Nicholas Bowler explained that Great Britain will expand quotas for Kyrgyz citizens to study at its universities and provide English language textbooks for schools in the country. In addition to the educational investment fund, assistance will be provided to improve conditions for British investors. The investment fund's objective will be to support small and medium-sized businesses, as well as female entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, Nicholas Bowler revealed that an agreement has been reached with the government for a British company to build a factory for the production of construction materials in Osh. Great Britain is also interested in mineral extraction, with British geologists soon to commence digitizing geological mining data in the region.
