Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover grew by 28.3 percent in January-February 2024, according to the macroeconomic review of the Eurasian Development Bank.
The increase in export revenue by 18.4 percent was driven by the resumption of shipments of basic metals abroad. The previous year saw no exports. However, exports to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries decreased by 42.5 percent. This was due to a decline in the value of deliveries to Russia (mainly copper products, clothing, and accessories) and Kazakhstan (ores and concentrates of precious metals).
The value of imports increased by 30 percent, with 98 percent attributed to the rise in imports of goods from China – machinery, equipment, and their parts.
