The Ministry of Labor, Social Development, and Migration reported that a trilateral meeting took place between the Minister Gulnara Baatyr, Ambassador of Japan Hideki Gojo, and the Country Director of UNDP in Kyrgyzstan Koichiro Nakai. The meeting focused on providing international assistance to Kyrgyzstan, culminating in the signing ceremony of a project document aimed at supporting self-sufficiency through food aid for vulnerable populations.

Within the agreement, $3.5 million will be allocated to assist underprivileged residents of Batken, Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, and Osh regions by enhancing basic infrastructure, providing essential food products (flour, vegetable oil), offering skill-building in professions, entrepreneurship, and agriculture, as well as conducting training for participants of the "Social Contract Facilitation" program nationwide.

"This program aims to strengthen food security for vulnerable population groups and contribute to the development of sustainable economic independence, fostering economic and social stability in the country. With previous support from the Japanese government, enterprises for apricot oil production in Batken region and medicinal herb processing in Naryn region were established, creating additional job opportunities," noted Gulnara Baatyr.
