Finance Minister of Kyrgyz Republic meets with European Investment Bank VP.

In Georgia, a meeting took place between the Minister of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almaz Baketaev, and the Vice President of the European Investment Bank, Teresa Czerwinska. The Ministry of Finance press service reported that the Minister and the head of the investment bank discussed several major projects totaling 112 million euros, out of which 72 million have already been utilized.

  • The cooperation agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the European Investment Bank was signed in Brussels on September 17, 2013.
  • Three financing agreements have been signed since then for projects related to water supply, agro-industry, and CASA-1000.

For the CASA-1000 project, 70 million euros allocated to the Kyrgyz Republic have been utilized, but the government has requested an additional 9 million euros in financing from the bank.

  • For the water supply project, 20 million euros were allocated, out of which 2 million have been utilized.
  • Regarding the agro-industry project, out of the allocated 22 million euros, none have been utilized yet.
