UN Development Program in Kyrgyzstan, in collaboration with the public foundation "Training and Consulting Center" (TES-center), is launching an initiative to strengthen the value chain of natural honey within the project "Promoting Trade in Central Asia." This was reported by the UNDP website.
According to the information, the project is funded by the government of Finland. It will provide support to honey producers in the Osh, Naryn, and Issyk-Kul regions. The project aims to increase honey production and sales, create new jobs, enhance the sector's competitiveness, and strengthen its export potential.
"Kyrgyzstan has significant potential for the production and export of natural honey. The development of this industry can play an important role in expanding economic opportunities and stimulating production and processing in the regions. However, coordinated joint efforts are necessary for this," the statement said.
The initiative is part of the broader project "Promoting Trade in Central Asia," which focuses on enhancing regional trade and economic cooperation. The support provided to honey producers in Kyrgyzstan aims to not only boost the honey industry but also contribute to the overall economic development of the country.
Key points of the initiative include:
- Providing support to honey producers in the Osh, Naryn, and Issyk-Kul regions
- Increasing honey production and sales
- Creating new job opportunities
- Enhancing the competitiveness of the honey sector
- Strengthening the export potential of natural honey from Kyrgyzstan
By investing in the development of the honey industry and value chain in Kyrgyzstan, the UNDP and TES-center are working towards fostering sustainable economic growth, promoting job creation, and boosting the country's export capabilities in the agricultural sector.
