Kyrgyzstan has turned to the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development with a request for a grant to purchase over 100 ambulances. This was reported by the EFSR press service.
It is noted that the application has been submitted to implement the state program "Healthy Person - Prosperous Country", designed until 2030.
It is planned that following the review, the fund will allocate $3 million on a non-repayable basis.
This potential project was discussed among other current issues during the mission of the EFSR held in Bishkek.
Previously, in 2021, the fund also provided a $3 million grant for the purchase of medical transport. At that time, 47 ambulances, 58 units of sanitary transport, and 2 disinfection units were supplied to healthcare institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Furthermore, in 2018, the EFSR began implementing a grant program in the republic for the prevention of diseases in hard-to-reach areas called the "Health Caravan". $1.8 million was allocated for its financing.
To implement the project, mobile medical complexes were acquired - specialized medical trains. Currently, more than 20,000 people have received high-tech medical services based on them. The medical trains continue to operate under the management of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I. Akhunbaev and the Osh State University.
