According to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, the inflow of money transfers to Kyrgyzstan in January-March 2024 amounted to $689.74 million. This is 12.8 percent higher than in 2023, with an increase of $78.34 million.
In March, the inflow of money transfers to Kyrgyzstan reached $225.1 million, showing an increase of $19.5 million compared to the previous month. The majority of money transfers were received from Russia - $207.5 million, while $10.5 million came from other countries and $5.2 million from the USA.
In March, there was also an outflow of funds amounting to $32.4 million, which decreased by $17.1 million compared to the previous month. The majority of the money was sent to Russia ($27.5 million). In the first three months of 2024, the outflow of money from the country totaled $138.27 million, which is $20.33 million less than the same period in 2023.
The net inflow of money transfers in Kyrgyzstan in January-March 2024 amounted to $551.47 million, marking an increase of $98.67 million or 21.8 percent compared to 2023.
In 2023, the volume of money transfers to the country was $2,706.1 million. $561.2 million was transferred from Kyrgyzstan to other countries, resulting in a net inflow of $2,144.9 million.
