Bishkek City Council Extends Moratorium on Gas Stations for Ten Years

in Economy / Kyrgyzstan - by

The Bishkek city council has decided to extend the moratorium on allocating land plots for gas stations for another ten years. The decision was made during a session.

In 2013, a moratorium was imposed on the allocation of land plots and construction of gas stations in the area bordered by Tokombaev/Masalieva streets, Sadyrbaev Street, Tolstoy Street (from Sadyrbaev Street to Taishetskaya Street), Fuchik Street, Kurmandzhan Datka Street, 7 April Street, and Jibek Jolu Avenue.

This moratorium has now been extended until December 31, 2033, in order to ensure ecological and technological safety, as well as to address transportation issues.

On the previously allocated land plots within the boundaries of the established moratorium, the functional purpose for automobile gas stations can only be changed to the design and construction of social facilities, squares, parks or green areas, multi-level parking lots, and parking facilities with social, cultural, and household purposes (with social, cultural, and household facilities not exceeding 30 percent of the total area put into operation).
