Our main trading partner, Russia, is under sanction pressure. Nevertheless, the economy is showing sustainable growth within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)," stated Akylbek Japarov, the Prime Minister, in an interview with the "Russia 24" TV channel on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the signing of the EAEU Treaty.

Japarov reminded that over the past three years, Kyrgyzstan's GDP growth has averaged around 7 percent, and in 2022, it exceeded 9 percent.

"The right macroeconomic policy, a professional team, and the creation of favorable conditions for our businesses and citizens, including within the EAEU, have helped us stabilize the economy after the pandemic and take advantage of all the benefits of our union to ensure that the Kyrgyz Republic's economy operates at the necessary pace," noted the head of the cabinet.

According to him, the GDP volume of the republic reached over 1 trillion 200 billion soms in 2023, but Kyrgyzstan has set more ambitious goals. By 2030, the President has set a target for the GDP volume to be no less than $30 billion.

"Our union has responded to the aspirations of our citizens. Usually, these associations are created from the perspective of economic interests, political interests, and then take into account the interests of ordinary citizens. The demands of our citizens to live in freedom, to move freely, to communicate, to work freely - I think this is what our leaders took into account when creating this union," said Akylbek Japarov.
