Kyrgyz President Discusses Partnership with World Bank Executive Director

President Sadyr Japarov welcomed a delegation from the World Bank led by Executive Director Dominik Favre. They discussed key areas of partnership between Kyrgyzstan and the World Bank, focusing on energy, water resources, and transportation. Japarov praised the World Bank's contribution to Kyrgyzstan's socio-economic development, highlighting the country's significant economic growth in recent years.

Japarov emphasized the importance of green technologies, particularly hydroenergy, in the face of global climate challenges. The construction of the Kambar-Ata-1 hydropower plant was highlighted as a major energy project in Central Asia. The President also underscored the significance of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project for Kyrgyzstan's transportation sector.

Favre commended Kyrgyzstan's progress and expressed the World Bank's readiness to support the country's priorities, including the technical-economic preparation of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1. The World Bank affirmed its support for Japarov's stance on climate change and pledged assistance in sharing expertise and knowledge.
