President Sadyr Japarov recently met with the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Bakytzhan Sagintayev. The meeting, which took place in Kyrgyzstan, focused on current cooperation topics within Kyrgyzstan's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as the deepening and expansion of integration in the Eurasian space.

Japarov highlighted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the signing of the EAEU Treaty. Significant progress has been made in all key areas of cooperation during this period. However, he also pointed out challenges in fulfilling certain provisions of the treaty, particularly the "four freedoms" principle: the movement of goods, services, capital, and labor.

The President emphasized the increasing obstacles to mutual trade within the union, despite the efforts made by each member state over the past seven years to address internal market issues. Japarov believes that creating a fully-fledged economic union should be a top priority for all members and must be achieved in the near future.

He recalled the priorities outlined during the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg, Russia, last year, aimed at further advancing the EAEU. Regarding trade barriers within the EAEU, Bakytzhan Sagintayev informed about the Commission's ongoing efforts in this direction, including taking swift measures to address emerging issues.
