The Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, Daniyar Amangel'diyev, commented on Kazakhstan's intention to limit the circulation of Kyrgyz products. He stated that Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan have developed a joint plan of authorized bodies in the field of technical regulation, signed by Kazakhstan on March 5 and by Kyrgyzstan on March 7, containing 13 measures.
Amangel'diyev emphasized the need for joint efforts to resolve the issue, as both countries' businesses would suffer from restrictions. Talks are ongoing with Kazakhstan to prevent the resolution on limiting Kyrgyz products from taking effect. The Minister highlighted that unilateral measures could be taken within the Eurasian Economic Union to protect their markets and population health.
He mentioned that the first steps to address the issue will be implemented by the end of March 2024. Registration of declarations of conformity to the technical regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union for export goods will only be done through Kyrgyzstandart. A cabinet resolution from February 28, 2024, will authorize Kyrgyzstandart as the sole certification body.
Amangel'diyev concluded that the joint plan aims to reduce the number of unscrupulous laboratories and ensure proper regulation of products.
