National Bank intervenes in currency market for the first time since March

The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has made its first intervention in the currency market since the beginning of March, selling a total of $8.35 million with settlements on dates different from the transaction. This marks the second intervention of the year, bringing the total amount sold to $31.85 million.

In 2023, the National Bank conducted a total of 14 interventions, selling a substantial $655.72 million. The recent move is seen as a strategic effort by the central bank to stabilize the currency market and manage exchange rate fluctuations effectively. This intervention signifies the bank's commitment to ensuring the stability and reliability of the national currency.
