Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia Sign Agreement on Double Taxation Exclusion

in Economy / Kyrgyzstan - by

Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia have signed an agreement to exclude double taxation on income and prevent tax evasion. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic announced that the document was signed by Kyrgyzstan's Minister Daniiar Aman geldiev and Slovakia's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic, Robert Kirnag.

Double taxation avoidance agreements are seen as a means to attract foreign direct investments into the country's economy. Their main objectives include protecting residents of one state from discriminatory taxation in another contracting state, preventing tax evasion or abuse of agreement provisions, and facilitating mutual exchange of information between competent authorities of the contracting states.

As of today, Kyrgyzstan has entered into agreements on double taxation avoidance with 36 countries.
