The third meeting of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Business Council saw more than a hundred members of the business community come together. The Kyrgyz delegation was led by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Temir Sariyev. Key agenda items included the development of joint entrepreneurship within the framework of investment from the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund. The Chairman of the Fund's Board of Directors, Aziz Aaliyev, presented on the organization's activities and opportunities.
Discussions revolved around the opening of a green corridor for perishable goods, a shared laboratory, sanitary inspection, additional border crossing points, and increasing transportation by railway. Temir Sariyev highlighted that the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have laid a strong foundation for mutual cooperation between the two countries.
Currently, the trade turnover between the states has reached around $1 billion. The heads of state have tasked to create favorable conditions for businesses and open green corridors. These matters are gradually being resolved in a positive direction, noted Temir Sariyev.
Following the Business Council meeting, an agreement was reached on mutual production of food products between Kyrgyzstan's "Alayku Organics" and Uzbekistan's "Molochy Dom" companies. Additionally, B2B meetings between entrepreneurs took place, resulting in the signing of contracts and reaching several agreements.
